Satelite

We should be grateful to Sir Arthur C. Clarke, a British national who has written a science fiction book "2001: A Space Odyssey" This book is an inspiration geosynchronous satellite. In 1945, Mr. Clarke has noted that a satellite which was in the equatorial circular orbit with a distance of 42,242 km will have the same angular velocity with the Earth's rotation. Thus he will continue to be at the same point on the earth and can receive and relay signals in almost the entire hemisphere. At that distance, three satellites are placed 120 degrees apart to cover the entire globe. So two points anywhere in this world can be connected.

Based on the idea, russia on 4 October 1957 launched the first Sputnik I. satelitenya Although at that time sdh rocket technology advanced enough, but the new synchronous orbit can be achieved in 1963. since then began what he called "Space Race" with Russia to match U.S. efforts. December 18, 1958 the U.S. launched the SCORE (Signal Comunication by Orbitting Relay Equipment) placed in low orbit. This Satellite broadcasting sound recordings over Einsenhower president and is the first successful satellite repeater. SCORE dubbed the "Bangkok pipe in the sky".

The first communications satellite was first launched by ECHO AT & T on August 12, 1960 and 25 January 1964. Satellite is very popular at that time because at night the bright can be visible to the naked eye. ECHO I is still a passive reflector because it does not have transphonder and battery.

Bell system and then develop bertransponder satellite, TELSTAR TELSTAR I and II, launched on 10 July 1962 and 7 May 1963. but still in low orbit. Satellite communication with the first successful geosynchronous orbit is a satellite launched SYNCOM series that began in 1963. Less than 20 years after Sir Clarke put forward ideas. SYNCOM I failed to be launched but SYNCOM II and III was successfully placed in orbit on July 26, 1963 and 1964. transphondernya capable of carrying two carrier signals at the same time to oprasi full duplex.

The first commercial geosynchronous satellite which is INTELSAT I. Intelsat project is funded by a consortium of more than 105 countries. The first INTELSAT called EARLY BIRD was launched on 6 April 1965 and remained active until 1969. then followed with-INTELSAT INTELSAT next. Approximately 7 years after NASA launched the artificial satellite Palapa SKSD PERUMTEL Hughes Aircraft to Indonesia.
